Product Development & Film Innovation
We operate a specialist laboratory focused on:
-
High-performance shrink films

Stretch banding film optimisation
-
Sustainable material development (e.g. PCR content)
Our team can tailor film properties for strength, clarity, cost savings, sustainability, and machine performance.

How is Shrink Film Manufactured
Shrink film is produced using blown film extrusion:
1️⃣ Polymer pellets are melted
2️⃣ Molten film is extruded through a circular die
3️⃣ Air forms a bubble which is cooled into film
4️⃣ Film is flattened and wound into rolls
5️⃣ When heated, the film shrinks tightly around products
Ideal for:
-
Multipacks & display wrapping
-
Food & beverage transit packaging
-
Tamper-evident protection

The Extrusion Process Explained
Extrusion is how most polythene shrink & stretch films are created:
-
Melted polymer is shaped as a tube through a die
-
Film structure and thickness are precisely controlled
-
Stretch film = molecules aligned for elasticity
-
Shrink film = heat-responsive memory for tight packaging
The result: strong, consistent films suitable for automated lines.

Can Shrink Film Be Recycled?
Yes — but films must enter the correct recycling stream:
✅ Recyclable through specialist PE film processors
✅ Can be re-used for packing & storage
⚠ Must be clean and separated before recycling
We offer PCR (post-consumer recycled) films — up to 50% recycled content — helping reduce Plastic Packaging Tax and environmental impact.

What Is Polythene?
A tough but flexible film used widely in:
-
Stretch banding
-
Collation shrink
-
Protective transit packaging

Available in LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE grades.

What Is Polyolefin (POF)?
A premium packaging film, ideal for:
-
Retail shelf display
-
Food-safe shrink wrap
-
Printed packaging with strong visual appeal
Features:
-
High clarity & gloss
-
Strong & durable
